To determine the best products for your odor job you need to look at the level of contamination. The more severe
the urine contamination the more aggressive the treatment needs to be. These treatments are primarily for
synthetic fibers. OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) should not be used on wool or other natural fibers.
Light to Moderate: Pet has made only one or two deposits on
the carpet in the same place. Even if there are multiple urine deposits around the room so long as the carpet backing has
not been saturated it is considered Light to Moderate. A topical treatment with Bio Kinesis, Molecular Modifier, or Odor
Zyme will work very well for this level of contamination.
Moderate to Heavy: Pet has made multiple deposits on the carpet. Carpet backing and pad has been contaminated.
Sub-floor may or may not be contaminated. The best product for this is OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) for directions
on how to use this product click here.
Heavy to Extreme: Carpet has literally been used as a litter box.
Carpet backing, pad, and sub-floor have been thoroughly contaminated. The best products for this type of
contamination are OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) and Odor Barrier. The full treatment will require the
carpet to be pulled back, the sub-floor sealed and the contaminated carpet padding to be replaced.
Wall to wall wool carpeting can be treated with any of the
enzyme products like Pro's Choice Molecular Modifier, Bio Kinesis, or Odor Zyme. More severe contamination may require pad
replacement and sealing the floor with Odor Barrier.
Wool area rugs are best treated with a submersion technique using Pros Choice Rug Restorer. This is a more
advanced technique and should be handled carefully. For information on this technique click here.
Smoke Odors can be addressed with Pro's Choice Smoke Off. Smoke
Off can be diluted and used in a wet fogger, added to any cleaning solution, or used as a post treatment for carpeting
and wet-cleanable draperies and upholstery.
